Top 5 MAC Lipsticks 2014

My Top 5 MAC Lipsticks !!

Okay so i thought i'd do a post on my favorite MAC lipsticks, i'll include swatches on my hand and on my Lips - i also have swatches with various lip liners and these will show how the colour and effect of the shade change with the alternative bases. at the bottom of this post i'll add a couple more swatches of a few other lip shades but i wont have Lip Swatches (my lips started to get sore !!). Okay, on with the show x

From Left to Right : Pink Plaid; Nikki Minaj Viva Glam ; Fan Fare ; Pink Nouveau ; Up The Amp.

Lip Liners : Boldly Bare; Magenta ; Hip 'n' Happy

1. Pink Plaid - Matte
This is such a pretty colour and my number one matte shade (although i do want to try Candy Yum Yum), its a pale to midtone blue-pink, i find it suits cold undertones best and this can be worn lightly in the daytime or built up for an evening look - however as this is a matte shade it will never appear sheer, it is also quite light so it is not a natural looking shade.

2.Nikki Minaj - Viva Glam - Satin
This is a very vibrant pink Coral - it has pink-blue undertones and is very opaque and creamy, this is a lovely formula on the lips and is so pretty on a summer night, slightly Neon i love this colour, however once again it is difficult to apply this shade sheer, this is not for every day unless you like to wear very bright very exuberant shades in the day - me ? i'm just not daring enough .

3. Fan Fare - Cremesheen
This is my all time favorite every day / neutral shade, it has a little bit of gold shimmer to it but not an obvious or cheap amount, this is quite dark so it isn't a "my lips but better" shade its more of  "someone else's lips that are better than mine" shade (make sense?) it suits warm and cold tones but i think looks best on pale skin and slightly tan olive toned skin .The only issue is that this is such a soft formula that it broke in my pocket as it got too warm that when i pressed it on my lips it was melted and slit in two , keep this in your bag ladies - i fixed it by putting it in the freezer (handy tip ;) ).

4.Pink Nouveau - Satin
This is a very bright bold pink-blue lipstick , its a few shades darker and brighter than a daytime look warrants but over a light lip liner i think it works well this is a very cold lipstick and could look strange on warm skin.

5. Up the Amp - Amplified Cremesheen
This has to be my favourite "out there" shade, this is so pretty on a night, a creamy deep lilac which changes very easily with variations in liner, this matches well with anything from a smoky eye due to its pale hue to a neutral eye due to its boldness. the amplified cremesheen is my favourite finish as its glossy and opaque but also feels moisturising (compared to the slightly drying matte and the thinner Satin).

This is my favorite combination of these lipsticks:
Magenta Lip liner, with Up the Amp over the full lip and Nikki Viva Glam in the centre.

Finally i have a few swatches of my other well liked MAC lipsticks

1. So Chaud - Matte

2.Vegas Volt - Amplified Cremesheen

3.Saint Germain - Amplified Cremesheen

4.Rebel - Satin

Thanks for reading guys, i hope this was useful to any of you after a new lipstick or wanting to try out your first MAC.

Enjoy ,

JUNE 2013 GLOSSYBOX REVIEW

Glossy Box : June 2013
Hello Girls !
So it's the 10th of June and i just received my Glossy box, which if you've googled this you will already know what it is and probably have a subscription yourself, if you've stumbled across it the Glossy Box is a monthly subscription service which automatically charges you £10.00 (+£2.95 P&P) every month and in return sends you  box of goodies to try out, sample and enjoy ! You can also purchase 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions to Glossy Box.
So this month is the "Summer Looks" Box and I'll go right ahead and show you what i got !

I received three full sized products this months and 3 samplers - that's 6 in total when the Box usually only supplies 4-5. i assume that Glossy box is classing the two Paul Mitchell products as one item (?)

1.Organic Surge Super-intensive Daily Moisturiser - For Dry Skin .
                                                    50ml - FULL SIZED - RRP £8.99

Lord Above ! This is such a thick and creamy moisturiser! It feels quite light on the skin though an absorbs easily into my very dry skin. lovely product. This comes in a heavy glass jar, which I'll admit I have a penchant for, with a tightly screwed lid and a little plastic seal to keep its integrity (unlike those other slutty creams with their caps popping off and what not !). This claims to nourish, condition and re hydrate - we shall see !It contains Organic Rose geranium oil and is fragranced very lightly with a floral spicy note.
This is made in the UK (Scotland ).

2. Helen E Cosmetics - Waterproof Protective Lip liner.
1.3g- FULL SIZE- RRP £8.00

I haven't tested this to see if its waterproof but to be honest the swatch wore off pretty easily. This is full sized which is nice, and a red lip liner is a stock item that everyone should have. This is more of a pink toned  raspberry red. Helen E is a very reputable company and it was nice to receive this. I usually buy lip liners to go with a specific Lipstick to be honest so I'm not sure how much I will use this. However it looks lovely and is Unfragranced .

3.Paul Mitchell - Curls
a) Full Circle Leave in Treatment- (200ml - £14.95)- SAMPLE SIZE 15ml
b) Ultimate Wave Texture cream-gel - (150ml - £11.95)- SAMPLE SIZE 15ml

I haven't used these yet but they are of a very reputable brand and though only 15ml I would say there is enough products for two nice uses. The treatment is very liquid and it came a little too easily out of the tube (hence the picture of the innards). These will be nice to use and I was happy to receive them !Glossy box argues that this is "a double whammy dynamic duo for tousled summer hair ". It also claims that these will replenish the hair, detangle, hydrate, tame frizz and protect the hair from damage. If the product does all of this fantastical stuff I'm sure it will be worth buying full size for the slightly more expensive price.

4.Nails Inc - Nail polish in Portabello - (10ml - £11.00) SAMPLE SIZE 4ml

This is such a gorgeous Coral colour ! the photo doesn't quite do it justice and my camera has been acting up. boo. but this really is a pretty shade and though 4ml is a small size it is enough (do you ever really get to the end of a polish?) the other option was St James which is a pillar box red but I'm happy with my Portabello which Glossy Box claims is "the 2013 fashionistas favourite" but I just think it'd look great with a tan ! Also it's  neon - who doesn't love neon??

5. Figs & Rouge - Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm - 12.5ml - FULL SIZE RRP £5.00

As you can see - though pink in the gloss there is very little colour payoff. i don't mind that at all! I do not like cherry blossom scents usually but this is a sweet scent, rather than floral and this balm is so conditioning I'm applying it every 5 minutes even though it's not worn off yet ! Its a sweet little tube and the balm has to be very much forced out so no spillages ! This is 100% pure and natural and also comes in Coco rose flavour which i would maybe have preferred but I'm still happy ! This apparently can also be used on elbows and knees (similar to the infamous nipple balm) and even to tame eyebrows !

Alright Girls, That is everything I received in my June Glossy box !
If you would like a full review of any of these things let me know as these are just my first impressions !

Love you all, Enjoy xx
